West African non-migrant youth in the wake of migration and transnationalism

Abstract

In the wake of unprecedented global migrations, and a heightened concern in receiving countries of the many immigrants that continue to increase in numbers, Paul Gaibazzi sheds light on what it means to stay in one’s country and not migrate. And, while immigration research has mostly taken binary forms between the sending and receiving countries, and between people who migrate and those left behind as different entities, the book “Bush Bound” focuses on the those that stay, “sitters” or “stayers,” not as an entity in themselves but as an integral part of the whole immigration phenomena.
